Twitter Turns a $5 million Profit

buzz this

Not bad for a company that's only 3 years old and based solely on 140 character informational shorts from the millions of Twitterers out in cyberspace.

Back in October Twitter founders made deals with Microsoft and Google to allow tweets to appear in Bing and Google searches.

Got to give it to Twitter for thinking on their toys. The public constant insatiable appetite for real time search results placed the founders of the little blue bird in a fine spot.

The deal with Google was worth $10 million and Microsoft, $15 million.

Twitters operating expenses are around $20 million. So, a $5 million profit isn't bad at all for a company that hasn't even hit the 5 year mark yet.

Damn, wish I could think of something to rake in a cool 5 million after only 3 frickin' years.
