Finding Blog Post Ideas through Picture Writing

buzz this

What is it about blogging that causes such dedication on the part of the blogger? The endless hours of brainstorming for post ideas, optimizing your site in hopes of aesthetically pleasing your readers, visiting countless other blogs searching for a topic that inspires or motivates you to write something earth shatteringly important or interesting.

Dedication is defined as commitment: the act of binding yourself (intellectually or emotionally) to a course of action.

Does that definition sum up how you feel about blogging. But wait before you convince yourself that you're not dedicated to blogging answer these questions -

Do you feel the slightest bit uneasy if you don't have a post ready for the next day?
When something funny or exciting happens in real life do you get excited about the idea of blogging about it?
Is your blog circle of friends bigger than your real life circle of friends?

Okay....I'll stop there! If you answered yes to these questions, you're most certainly hooked!

Now that we've established our unwavering dedication to blogging...we can get on with the topic of today's post - Picture Writing.

Picture writing is the act of writing based on a picture or image for stimulation. I guess it could be considered as a form of "free writing".

I'd never really thought about using this technique for blog post ideas until I read a post about it on another blog. It's fun, creative and pretty challenging.

Take the image in this post for example. How many titles come to mind when looking at that picture. This is new to me too. So, don't bust a stitch laughing at some of my ideas. But here it goes -

1. A Little Birdy Told Me A Secret
2. Don't Get Caught Straddling The Fence
3. Keep Your Competition Close
4. Finding Common Ground
5. Size Doesn't Always Matter
6. Keep Your Friends Close...And Your Enemies Closer
7. Facing Your  Fears With Confidence

Kind of cheesy, huh? But you get the general idea.

Now it's your turn! I know I'm not the most creative person in the world. So, you give it a try. What post title comes to mind when you look at the image......
