3 Blogging Mistakes to Avoid

Blogging isn't this new online fad that's going to be here today and gone tomorrow. Blogs are increasing in popularity with every passing day. The only thing new is the number of blogs cropping up.

The reasons people blog vary from person to person and business to business. From housewives to corporate America - everybody's doing it!

You've read, researched and put into practice lots of things you SHOULD do. Now let's get into some of the things you shouldn't do. Here's a list of 3 mistakes to avoid.

1. No About Me Page
Don’t forget to make an About me page! Readers that find your blog interesting naturally want to know a little something about the author. For a lot a bloggers a certain level of anonymity is something they choose and there's nothing wrong with that. Creating an about me page doesn't require a name, address, and phone number. Just a brief summary of your background, interests and the purpose of your blog should be enough. You can be as personal or as generic as you'd like.

2. No Posting Frequency
Write or die. It’s that simple. Always post at the same time. We're all creatures of habit and get used to things being done a certain way. Just remember consistency is key. If you post once a day, don’t post more! Don’t post once a day for three months and then suddenly increase your posts to five per day. Change isn't always good. If you feel you need to increase or decrease your posting frequency, let your readers know.

3. Grammatical Errors
Grammatical errors can ruin the whole package. Have you ever seen someone that was extremely attractive and well dressed only to find out they were complete idiots the minute they opened their mouths?  Take the time to proof read your posts. I'm sure we all have taken a couple of English 101 courses.  Most mistakes are usually related to typos. Keep this in mind when commenting on other blogs as well.  Once you submit that comment there isn't always a delete or edit button. ALWAYS take the time to proof read ANYTHING you plan to publish.

Good Luck and Happy Blogging!
