Building a Blog to be Proud Of

Today I'm going to provide you with all the answers to having a successful blog.....Wait for it.....wait.....time's up and I'm sure just as you suspected I don't have all the answers. I spend a great deal of time posting about successful blogging, ways to improve your writing, resources to increase your blog traffic. I've even thrown in a few of my super duper parenting tips along the way! Am I successful? Yes. Why? Because I'm doing something I love and having a ball doing it!  Granted, my blog may not be the most successful in the blogosphere. Still, there are practices I've implemented or read about that have been extremely helpful to me. So, without further delay...let's find out how we all can have a blog to be proud of!

1. Define how you measure success. What do you want out of your blogging experience? Knowing the answer to this question is key

2. Don't "expect" to get rich. I didn't say it wouldn't happen. But if you put that 6 figure blogging income on the back burner and learn to be happy with your $.59 Adsense revenue you won't be as disappointed

3. Be original. Enough said

4. Share something worthwhile. People visit your site to learn something. Whether it's blogging tips, photography, or laughing at a cute little cat named Daisy ...it matters

5. Be you. Remember the other day when I talked about avoiding self-censorship

6. Know your trade and promote your product. Finding out as much as you can about your subject matter, utilizing SEO tools and making the online social media work for you are things we all should be doing

Well, that's about it. Short, sweet and to the point. And remember...success is a journey, not a destination

Here's to OUR journey!
