Becoming a Pro Blogger

Whether you're blogging for fun, income or just to pass the time I'm sure you want it to be a successful endeavor. Out of the millions, yes millions, of blogs out there only a handful have reached the "A" list status. So, what's their secret? Or is it really a secret. Maybe their just doing some common sense stuff we can do too.

Writing and posting is extremely important otherwise why would anyone visit? But equally if not more important is contributing to other people's blogs.

Visit their sites and contribute comments; making sure to include a link back to your site. More often than not we tend to comment on post that we feel passionate about or can relate to in some way. With a little tweaking these comments can often be turned into really great blog posts for your site.

After posting, linking back to the source of the discussion can create a great online "conversation" that draws readers.

Check your visitor stats and find out where people are coming from and what might have prompted the link. See what they checked on your site, follow up and see what they are saying on their site. Contribute again.

Look at your blogroll. How often do you use your favorite people as a springboard to some thinking and posting of your own? Make sure you credit and trackback.
